Chris Knapp, clinical soft tissue practitioner

Hello, my name is Chris Knapp.

Since February 1995, I’ve earned a living fixing injuries by means of clinical soft tissue work. It’s been a great blessing. There is joy in relieving someone’s suffering, restoring their vitality, or in the case of a high-performance athlete, giving them a competitive advantage.

This website is an invitation into that sphere. If you have an orthopedic problem that has been resistant to traditional rehabilitative methods, you can find help here. Or perhaps you’re a clinician interested in adding new tools for helping your patients. Or maybe you’re just someone who wants to help a friend or loved one heal. In any case, I look forward to showing you the efficacy of this work.

Philosophy

The Mundane Magic

Many people wonder if healing is possible for their condition. I believe that healing is always possible for everyone as long as we are alive. This is what I call the mundane magic. Pain and movement restrictions are not always caused by a single muscle or isolated area. The body is one system, and discomfort in one location may be influenced by patterns elsewhere.

Clinical soft tissue work looks beyond the immediate symptom to address the root cause. By considering how muscles, connective tissue, joints, posture, and movement interact, Chris works to identify contributing factors and create a more complete treatment approach.

“The goal is not simply to address symptoms, but to understand why the body may be struggling.”

What to Expect

Your First Treatment

Your first session begins with a conversation about what you are experiencing, how it affects your life, and what you hope to improve.

Chris may also observe posture or movement to better understand how different areas of the body are functioning together.

Treatment is adapted throughout the session based on what Chris observes and how your body responds. You are encouraged to ask questions and communicate at any point.
